Substitute Teacher
Major Function
This employee is responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in policies and procedures of the Pepin Academies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow the lesson plans left by the teacher for whom he/she is substituting in accordance with the Pepin Academies’ philosophy, goals and objectives
- If long term substitute, develop lesson plans as appropriate for the class and students
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Establish and maintain order in the classroom
- Maintain a classroom environment conductive to effective learning
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials and equipment and facilities
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Pepin Academies’ policies
- Establish and maintain cooperative relations with other employees
- Report to the Director or his/her designee at the beginning and end of the school day
