POSITION SUMMARY :

The Senior Director of Business Development works to expand the company's market position and achieve growth. This role is responsible for defining strategic approaches to markets, leveraging current and building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, contributing to the pursuit efforts, and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The Senior Director of Business Development will partner with local office leadership and operational business leaders to drive market growth .

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Ensure that the company is positioned to obtain optimum business opportunities to achieve planned business growth objectives in targeted markets.
  • Lead sales meetings to communicate progress and discuss strategy pertaining to short- and long-term opportunity.
  • Review and analyze market data to determine market trends / fluctuations and develop strategies to position the company for the opportunities.
  • Develop and establish policies, procedures, criteria and controls to optimize performance of the team
  • Establishing relationships with potential clients while developing a business relationship with them.
  • Create positive, long-standing relationships with current and future clients.
  • Developing and presenting customized materials for each client's business needs (industry brochures).
  • Develop strong rapport with key decision makers, understanding expectations to successfully deliver for them.
  • As market data dictates, develop new sales area utilizing various information and methods.
  • Responsible for the approval of employment, promotion, demotion, and termination of operations personnel, subject to the concurrence of the Senior Vice President and the President.
  • Responsible for representing the organization at industry events, civic and charitable functions, conferences, fundraisers, and provide feedback surrounding attended event.
  • Responsible for the opportunity management system within the organization
  • Identify and implement teambuilding opportunities to build collaboration and cohesion amongst operations and marketing groups.
  • Establish internal working relationships with marketing team and operations leaders during the pursuit aspects of an opportunity.
  • Supports and encourages individual development through teaching, coaching and mentoring efforts.
  • Has total command and understanding of Company systems.
  • Monitors, supports and enforces the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction, check-ins with active client to solicit insight on operations performance.
  • Responsible for marketing and new business development, presentations and other related activities, as appropriate, utilizing the resources of the marketing department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Candidate must have an established network in the Columbus business community and architectural community
  • BA / BS in Construction Management / Engineering, Business Management / Administration or related filed.
  • A minimum of eight to twelve years relevant experience, at least five of which should have been at management level.
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a commanding personal presence.
