We are a dynamic law firm consisting of five attorneys focusing primarily in Business and Commercial Litigation, seeking a detail-oriented, motivated and reliable Paralegal to join our team.
Job Overview
As a Paralegal at our firm, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys in all aspects of litigation. You will be responsible for preparing legal documents, conducting research, and assisting with case management. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings and discovery requests ensuring proper formatting and compliance with local rules.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easy to retrieve.
- Prepare and manage case calendars, including filing deadlines and court appearances.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other professionals as necessary.
- File pleadings with various courts across Tennessee.
- Perform administrative duties such as creating binders.
- Assist with eviction matters.
- Other tasks as requested by the attorneys or head paralegal.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a litigation law firm.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, legal software (e.g., Clio, Westlaw, Everlaw), and document management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Notary Public Certification (or willingness to obtain if not currently certified).
- Paralegal Certification is a plus.
