THE JOB
An Area Director (AD) for PepperJax Grill oversees 6 to 10 restaurant locations and is responsible for maintaining Company standards and assuring each stores profitability. ADs are responsible to lead, manage and hold accountable General Managers (GM) and to assist GMs in building and developing team members, coaching performance, and maintaining a best-in-class Company culture. Strong relationship skills and operations are required for this position.
An AD must exemplify the Companys core values of People First by genuinely caring for people, treating them with respect, exhibiting humility and striving for a One Team, One Guest model. ADs should model the core value of Grit to others by taking ownership, maintaining accountability, doing the right thing, being committed and reliable and being a self-starter. The AD must possess strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills within all levels of management. As an AD you must be able to address issues in a positive and productive manner. An AD should understand and have knowledge of the Companys procedures, expectations, and standards and carry out those procedures in such a way that maintains brand excellence.
Finally, an AD is responsible for holding General Managers accountable for controlling sales, labor, food, and all other costs related to operating each restaurant they oversee and must be able to communicate this information consistently to all levels of management.

- Must be able to pass a background check and fulfill the driving requirements of the Company.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead
Inspire and motivate employees, help them see the vision of the company and engage in the desire to see that vision through. Work on the business. Think, plan, have vision and provide clear direction to people.
- Train the General Managers and Assistant Managers at each restaurant location
- Exemplify Companys Core Values at all levels
- Weekly Level 10 meetings with all GMs in the ADs area
- Be present in each store location one full day bi-weekly and conduct daily check-ins with GMs at all restaurant locations
- Direct GMs toward resources to help them in their role. Encourage and foster health relationships between GMs and support center.
- Plan and strategize with GMs for their success personally and professionally.
- Assists GMs in the hiring and training of subordinate positions, and ensures optimum utilization of team members.
Manage
Doing the work and giving direction to employees to follow that promotes the business and emphasizes the bottom line. Make the vision a reality by being a builder, doer and executor. Communicate well, clarify expectations and set directives that will get the job done.
- Interprets and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote their consistent application within all markets in the brand.
- Audits activities to ensure conformance with the Company, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations, and food handling codes.
- Develops & monitors realistic and accurate area budget and forecasts.
- Ensures that the area financial performance meets Company forecasts; optimizes financial performance and operational productivity.
- Conducts quarterly store audits.
- Ensures that all team members are aware of current applicable government regulations.
- Ensures consistent and equitable administration of human resource policies, procedures, and guidelines to facilitate effective employee relations and support the preferred employer focus.
- Prepares and conducts performance appraisals and audits store performance appraisals.
- Ensures a safe work environment.
Hold Accountable

- Weekly Level 10 meetings utilize the Scorecard, Rocks and To-Dos to keep a pulse of the restaurants operations and hold accountable for non-performance.
- Review numbers during daily check-ins and monitor numbers daily.
- Assess restaurant staffs level of skill while in store and hold GMs accountable to training.
- Live out core values with all staff and hold address when not seeing these lived out at the restaurant.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree; 5 to 10 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, and guests.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
