Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will operate ship's cargo cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition heavy equipment and loads (gypsum, salt, or coal). Safety, precision, and efficiency are paramount in this role.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate cranes according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
Inspect cranes before each use to ensure proper functionality. Communicate with ground crew and other personnel to ensure safe and efficient operation. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Participate in safety training programs and adhere to safety regulations at all times.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid commercial crane operator certification, preferably but willing to train
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Physical strength and stamina to perform the duties of the job.
Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic crane understand.
Ideally experienced operating a variety of crane types, including tower cranes, mobile cranes, and overhead cranes.
Experience working in commercial construction or industrial settings.
Additional certifications in rigging, signaling, or other related areas.
OSHA 10 certification,
