Forklift Operator

Job Summary
Responsible for pulling finished products from lines, wrapping finished products and maintaining inventory. Loading and unloading of products from trailers. Their duties include maintaining finished products in the warehouse and keeping the FIFO process intact. The Forklift Operator is responsible for following GMPs and will report to the Warehouse Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Completes daily forklift service checklist form for routine maintenance or malfunctions.

· Comply with all powered industrial equipment regulatory rules of operation.

· Properly wrap and store all finished products in the designated areas.

· Load and Unload products from Trailers.

· Select customer orders using detailed reports.

· Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.

· Must keep all areas of the warehouse clean and neat.

· May load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.

· Must be aware of allergen control program.

· Follow all rules of safety and operation pertaining to forklift usage.

· Be constantly aware of quality expectations of the facility and the proper procedures for handling open, torn, or damaged products.

· Visually scan all pallets /slip-sheets for damaged products, broken pallets, or improperly palletized products that could result in safety or quality issues.

· Keeps work area clean.

· Perform other duties as requested by processing supervisors or managers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Operate forklift competently and effectively in a warehouse environment.

· Proficient in basic mathematics

· Work with others in a team building setting to maintain a high level of cleanliness.

· Capable of multitasking.

· Maintain safe work area.

Education/Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Experience in forklift operations preferred/required.

· On-the-job training provided.

Physical Requirements:

· Bending and stooping.

· Lifting 50 lbs.

· Climbing steps and ladders occasionally.

· Sitting for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
