Job Description

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Category Manager to join our team.

We make, sell, and distribute PepsiCo and other beverages. We do business in five states and sell PepsiCo beverages to most of the market in our geographic regions. We also develop our own line of beverages, producing and distributing a growing product line nationally.

Category Manager Overview

Responsible for meticulously studying and analyzing market trends and consumer behaviors within LRB product categories to optimize sales and profitability. Primary tasks involve gathering and analyzing data, tracking market performance, and assessing product assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies. By leveraging a data-driven approach, the Category Manager provides valuable insights to guide merchandising decisions, improve product placement, and enhance overall category performance, ensuring that PBV and its customers can meet the evolving demands and preferences of consumers while achieving financial objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive market research.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Utilize market insights.
  • Formulating and overseeing the strategic direction of product categories within PBV.
  • Defining assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies, aligning them with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales teams on promotional campaigns.
  • Analyze historical promotion data.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of promotions.
  • Forecast market share trends.
  • Identify potential drivers of market share.
  • Regularly review and update market share forecasts.
  • Collaborate with customer merchandising teams.
  • Develop planograms.
  • Provide recommendations for in-store displays and fixtures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and five to seven (5-7) years of related experience, or ten (10) years of related experience.
  • Collaborate with customer merchandising teams.
  • Develop planograms.
  • Provide recommendations for in-store displays and fixtures.
  • Category Management certification (CPCA, CPCM, or CPSA) preferred.
  • Excellent database management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to decipher trends and insights from database.
  • Ability to draw relevant conclusions and to convey findings to Sales team in a way that impacts presentations to PBV’s customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skillset.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Valid driver’s license. Some travel required.
  • Able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
  • Able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
