POSITION SUMMARY
Pequot Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Manager to join our growing team on the weekend shift. Working Friday through Monday for a total of 36 hours per week, likely hours for the role would be 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities necessary for producing quality products on time while meeting cost and quantity specifications. As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations, manage team performance, and ensure effective resource allocation. You will also play a pivotal role in resolving personnel grievances, executing performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
The Assistant Manager will be charged with ensuring smooth department operations by coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing work schedules, and overseeing the NCMR and RMA processes. Your leadership will help maintain high levels of communication between shifts, support employee development, and resolve conflicts. Additionally, you will monitor attendance, check time sheets, and handle daily maintenance requests. With a focus on maximizing throughput and on-time delivery, you will contribute to Pequot Manufacturing's continued success by ensuring a productive, efficient, and positive work environment.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Performance reviews; sets employee development path; holds employees accountable to policies; executes disciplinary actions and documents in Paylocity software and works constructively to resolve conflicts.
- Resolves higher level personnel grievances from Operations employees, following Company policy and procedures. Time management and attendance; check time sheets to confirm hours worked, time off requests, attendance line, and monitors attendance in accordance with the company's Attendance Policy.
- Scheduling crossover work with various departments, schedules department employees' work hours and approximate overtime to achieve maximum thru-put.
- Manages entire NCMR and RMA processes and seeks timely resolutions; works with other department leadership to mitigate quality issues as they arise.
- Charged with overall department communication : Department meetings, scheduling board and transitional meetings between shifts.
- Provides leadership & direction for all tier leadership levels within production operations. Actions strive to maximize resources to produce quality products and services while striving for on-time delivery.
- Oversee and directs Maintenance requests and operations with regards to daily priorities and concerns.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education : Degree not necessarily required; successful production manager demonstrates leadership and business acumen; understands job shop manufacturing uniqueness.
Experience : Previous experience which would demonstrate the ability to effectively carry out the essential functions of the position. Generally, this position would require several years of experience within a high level production environment. Ideally previous leadership experience with managing at least 5 employees.
Computer Skills Ability to use a personal computer and related programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word as well as manufacturing job shop software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position require frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, and fingering, as well as reaching outward and above shoulder level. The role also involves frequent bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling. Employees will need to lift and carry items weighing 10 lbs. or less and 11-20 lbs. frequently, while lifting 21-50 lbs. occasionally. Pushing and pulling activities are also required, with up to 12 lbs. being handled frequently and 13-40 lbs. occasionally. Occasional climbing and crawling may be required, and the ability to perform these physical activities is expected up to 33% of the time (approximately 0-2.5 hours per day) for some tasks, while others may be performed between 33% to 66% of the time (approximately 2.5-5.5 hours per day).
