POSITION TITLE: Managing Director
LOCATION: Silver Spring/Baltimore, MD (National Capital Region)
REPORTS TO: Regional Senior Vice Presiden
Position Summary
The Executive Managing Director (EMD) oversees a campus or region serving approximately 1,000 learners, managing high-level strategic initiatives, national partnerships, and large-scale fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Regional Senior Vice President, the EMD is responsible for securing $10.5 million annually in funding, managing a team of 45-50 staff, and driving long-term growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising & Business Development: Lead national fundraising efforts, securing multi-year corporate sponsorships and large-scale partnerships to meet a $10.5 million fundraising target.
- Team Leadership: Oversee a large team of 45-50 staff, focusing on leadership development, strategic decision-making, and delegation of daily operations to senior leaders and directors.
- Community Engagement: Engage with national organizations, major corporations, and government agencies to position the campus as a leader in workforce development.
- Program Operations: Ensure that the campus operates efficiently and meets the needs of 1,000 learners. Oversee the integration of advanced technologies and systems to scale program delivery.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead high-level strategic planning and multi-year growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with national priorities and influencing regional and national policies.
- Budget Management: Oversee a highly complex budget, ensuring advanced resource allocation and financial oversight to support the campus’s size and operational needs.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience leading large teams and managing complex, multi-campus operations
- Proven ability to secure major national partnerships and manage large-scale fundraising campaigns
- Expertise in strategic growth, program expansion, and high-level operational management
- Strong leadership and vision in workforce development or related nonprofit sectors

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary of $140,000 with a range between $140,000 and $145,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
