POSITION TITLE: Government Grantwriter
LOCATION: Remote
REPORTS TO: Director, Government Grants
OVERVIEW:
Per Scholas is seeking a government grantwriter to become an integral part of our national Development Team, playing a key role in growing federal, state, and local government grant funding. Primary responsibilities include prospect research; project management for government grant applications; writing, preparing, and submitting grant proposals; database entries; and ongoing funder communications in collaboration with the Director of Government Grants and Development staff. You will partner with a team of experienced and talented Development professionals and increase the share of revenue from government sources across Per Scholas markets in accordance with Per Scholas’ growth plan.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Collaborate with the Director of Government Grants to research, identify, and prioritize government funding opportunities
- Analyze all relevant RFPs and prepare summary memos for Program and Development staff
- Manage the preparation and development of government grant proposals, including external and internal outreach and planning; drafting of the narrative and all attachments; and coordination of project budget
- Ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including development, fiscal and program staff
- Research and analyze data to articulate goals, activities, anticipated outcomes, successes, challenges, etc. to funders
- Provide accurate and up-to-date development record keeping in Salesforce and other development systems, particularly tracking of funder deliverables
- Contribute to strategy and planning meetings
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-7 years of federal and state government grantwriting experience
- Excellent written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive government grant proposals
- Quick and resourceful research ability with knowledge of public sector information sources
- Experience effectively working on a team and demonstrated experience with successful project management; proven ability to collaborate, integrate constructive feedback, prioritize work, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Comfort with being managed remotely, working with multiple stakeholders, and collaborating remotely across departments
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Suite for Business (Docs, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, etc.)

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range between $80,000/year to $85,000/year, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides and alignment with qualifications and experience.
