Peraton is seeking a Business Process Consultant to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.
This position is located on-site in Tallahassee, FL.
The position will report to the Division of Food Safety to supplement existing
staff by supporting the planning, design, development, and implementation of information technology
projects.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business
processes and information technology. - Responsible for actively resolving day-to-day technology needs of the
business unit with a focus on the analysis of processes—dissecting problems and suggesting solutions.
Includes complex systems process analysis, design and simulation. - Must understand technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment. Must be able to suggest plans to integrate new and existing processes.
- Provides input and supports planning and prioritization for business process engineering related activities, including developing the business unit process engineering plan and integrating that plan with the corporate plan.
- Possesses knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements.
- Participates in continuous review and update to ensure that processes meet changing business unit conditions.
Identifies processes for improvement, documents existing processes, identifies and analyzes gaps between
current processes and the desired state, designs new processes, develops process performance measures
and plans the transition to a new process. - Provides counsel and leadership on future use of technology and business process improvements.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 8 years experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of experience or a High School diploma and 12 years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to pass a Florida department background check.
- Experience in performing business analysis on IT projects.
- Experience managing large, software development programs/projects.
- Experience creating process model diagrams
- Experience translating business requirements into use cases/user stories and
acceptance criteria. - Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with Department staff at various
levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skills and experience in business process re-engineering.
- Skills and experience in deriving business process and data requirements from analyzing process and system documentation.
- Skills and experiences in translating the information from meetings and written materials into process models and/or process flow models.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
