What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Business Operations position at Peraton?
Peraton is seeking a Director of Operations for the Homeland and Diplomacy Business Unit. This position reports directly to the Business Unit Vice President / General Manager and will work closely with all members of the BU leadership team as well as the Sector Operations Lead. This position is located in Reston, VA with some telework flexibility.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Ensures the integrated workflow across the Business Unit (BU) functions is efficient including problem solving issues that span multiple functions.
- Works closely with the BU General Manager to establish the annual operating plan (AOP) key metrics and monitors the execution of the AOP.
- Sets and oversees the service level expectations for the BU business functions and assists the functions to increase efficiencies throughout the workflow.
- Manages the development, review and actions of the monthly business management reviews and ensures the business unit program management reviews are consistently executed.
- Oversees the sector functional indirect budgets and monitors spend rate expectations including plan variances as necessary.
- Assists the Finance Director in monitoring and controlling BU indirect budgets to ensure alignment with operational needs to achieve the AOP.
- Maintains and monitors a program performance standards to ensure execution efficiency and delivery of revenue, profitability, direct labor, net workforce growth, employee engagement, DSO, and contract performance quality (CPAR).
- Problem solver for business and management issues that become obstacles against efficient business operations, growth and profitability.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 16 years of experience, may have management experience
- Proven track record as a team leader at senior levels in an organization
- Substantial profit and loss management experience working across a portfolio of contracts and programs of sizes relevant to the scale of the sector
- Deep experience managing complex execution programs including the ability to interface with all business functions.
- Business acumen that includes a fundamental knowledge of contracts, human resources, talent acquisition, finance, security and contracts as needed to execute a program of work.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry of Duty clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA desirable.

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
