Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support a government aviation program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and optimization of systems, networks, and data infrastructure to support aviation operations. This role will require expertise in systems engineering, network architecture, and data management, ensuring seamless communication and information flow across aviation platforms. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions for mission-critical government aviation systems.
Examples of duties include but not limited to :
- Design, develop, and integrate systems, networks, and data infrastructure for aviation platforms to support operational and mission requirements.
- Develop and implement network architectures, including secure communications networks, data link systems, and cloud-based solutions, ensuring reliable and high-performance data exchange between aviation platforms and ground systems.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams, including systems engineers, avionics engineers, and operations teams, to define system requirements and integrate network and data solutions into aviation platforms.
- Develop and manage data systems for storing, processing, and distributing large volumes of aviation-related data, including real-time mission data, communications, and intelligence.
- Ensure systems and networks are optimized for performance, security, and scalability, particularly for government and military aviation applications.
- Implement and manage network protocols and technologies, including TCP / IP, secure data transmission, data encryption, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network, system, and data-related issues during development, integration, and operational phases.
- Conduct performance analysis, testing, and validation of systems and networks to ensure optimal performance in both lab and field environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data compliance, integrity, and protection, particularly with respect to cybersecurity standards and military regulations.
- Provide documentation, including system specifications, integration plans, test procedures, and technical reports.
- Support OCONUS missions as needed, ensuring systems and networks are deployed, configured, and maintained in challenging environments.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in systems engineering, network design, and data management to ensure continuous improvement of aviation program capabilities.
