Responsibilities
We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support a large Department of Defense (DoD) contract with a multi-million dollar yearly procurement budget. The procurement specialist will be part of a team, with the following responsibilities :
- Generate Request to Initiate Purchases (RIPs) and Travel Authorization Requests (TARs), track through the approval process, and ensure timely purchase and delivery of goods and services.
- Responsible to ensure procurements are accurate and processed within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) measurements.
- Record accurate cost and funding data for RIPs and TARs.
- Maintain logs and generate regular reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings for senior management.
- Ensure that procurement activities adhere to customer and company standards and policies.
- Maintain relationships with vendors. Work with vendors to obtain quotes and resolve issues.
- Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support program planning and operations.
