Responsibilities
Peraton has an immediate opportunity available for a Site Reliability Engineer and Splunk Administrator to support a critical mission of consequence within our Cyber Mission Business Unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. The candidate’s primary responsibility is to maintain and enhance the existing Splunk infrastructure in the enterprise.
As the Senior Site Reliability Engineer on this team, you'll perform the below duties:
- Support Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Apply upgrades and patches as necessary to maintain system.
- Troubleshoot logs and effectively communicate with teammates, both government and contractor, in an enterprise environment.
- Manage the administration Splunk deployments, including both operating system and application aspects.
- Build a new Splunk instance to replace an existing system’s capabilities and make improvements and modernize it including analyzing requirements, designing and sizing Splunk architectures, crafting ingest capabilities, data modeling, solutions development, and dashboard designing
Qualifications
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required (Four years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree).
- Twelve (12) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Ten (10) years of experience in system engineering/architecture.
- Ten (10) years of experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc...
- At least seven (7) years of experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
- At least four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems.
- Experience in performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.
- One of the following certifications are required:
AWS Certified Developer --- Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator --- Associate
AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP) Data Engineer (Not Available after 6/30/24)
Elastic Certified Engineer
Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
Highly Desired Experience:
- Splunk administration experience

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.EEO
