About The Role
Peraton requires Cable/Infrastructure Technicians to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad.
The Cable/Infrastructure Technicians will be working onsite in Eglin AFB, FL.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Cable/Infrastructure Technicians require excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as the ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video, data and radio frequency cable infrastructure. Requires relevant training, as well as hands-on experience working with cable infrastructure. The Technician assists with installing, testing, and maintaining the secure/non-secure voice, video, data, and radio frequency cable infrastructure in close coordination with the Government. The Technician shall perform its work in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, directives, and industry best practices for installing telecommunications cable infrastructure.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Install, replace, repair, remove, terminate, and test new and existing LAN cabling in accordance with applicable policies and industry best practices
- Maintain cable infrastructure labeling standards in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and directives.
- Installing new cable.
- Terminating and testing new cable.
- Testing and troubleshooting faulty cable.
- Cross-connecting circuits using patch panels.
- Maintaining core datacenter infrastructure; following cabling and organization standards.
- Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
- A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required.
- Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA or High School Diploma and 9 years of experience.
- Certifications (Required & Preferred):
- Required Certifications:
- BICSI Installer 2, Copper OR BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber certification.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level I or II certification (e.g., CompTIA Network , Security , or equivalent).
- Preferred Certifications:
- BICSI Technician Certification
- Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
- OSP Construction Certifications (e.g., BICSI Outside Plant Designer - OSP)
- OSHA 10/30 Certification (for safety compliance in construction environments).
- Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Corning, Panduit, CommScope, Leviton).
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, such as:
- Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces (e.g., ceilings, raised floors, tunnels, and equipment racks).
- Working outdoors and in field environments under varying weather conditions.
- Standing for extended periods while installing and terminating cables.
- Ability to work at heights and operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, or other aerial platforms.
- Must be comfortable working in military-secured environments and following strict operational protocols.
