Responsibilities
Peraton requires Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM. This position is located at Hurlburt Field in Florida.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO / J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
Under the direction of the Sr. Network Engineer, the Network Engineer performs Tier three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. Must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN / WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP / IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required. This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The Network Engineer is also responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. The Engineer must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government's needs. This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)
- Triaging malware, LAN, WAN, VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems
- Providing troubleshooting of enterprise WAN / MAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluating the effect of architectural changes on the network
- Troubleshooting LAN voice and data networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on them
- Assessing business and applications requirements for corporate data and voice networks
- Planning, designing, and upgrading network installation projects
- Establishing and maintaining backup, version-control and malware defense systems
- Troubleshooting network architectures and recommending system fixes and enhancements
- Making recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operational costs
- Some positions may require shift work and / or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission
