What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician/Receptionist position at Perception Eyecare?

We are looking for a people loving, customer service oriented, fashion forward individual to join our small and fun work family. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Greet and welcome incoming patients
· Perform examination pretesting and other medical testing (AR, Icare, BP, topography, retinal photos, OCT, visual field, etc)
· perform dry eye treatments such as Radio Frequency technology, low light therapy and more
· Train patients how to use their contact lenses
· Offer chair-side assistance to our doctors
· Assist doctor with patients in exam room
· Record patient data in computer system
· Assist front reception to verify insurance
· In charge of ordering and maintaining of contact lens trials and keeping up with latest contact lens updates
· Must be willing and open to be cross-trained to dispense/adjust glasses
Other duties as needed such as help fellow team members with unfinished tasks so everyone can leave on time, meet goals, bonus, etc.
Qualifications
- Medical office experience with a basic understanding of ophthalmology and anatomy
- Experience with patient care and intake processes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly CRYSTAL PM
- Skills in retail sales and medical billing/coding
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
