Job Description
The Clinical Data Programmer Lead role ensures that our clients have the data support they need to deliver on their goals and provides advanced data management support to internal study and scientific teams. The individual in this role will lead a Clinical Data Programmer team and advise on best practices for data consistency, validation and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management
- Manage staff including professional development / training, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations
- Support DM personnel in the development of technical documentation
- Manage staff resources to effectively distribute work and ensure balance between workloads
Database Development Activities
- Develop electronic data collection forms to maximize efficiencies in data acquisition across multiple imaging modalities and therapeutic areas
- Program data cleaning / consistency check programs to support internal applications for all therapeutic areas
- Design and develop custom calculations, error checks, and automated data validation routines
- Assist with the development of data integrations for continuity across internal data platforms (sites, sponsors, Perceptive locations)
- Advise on the development of database quality standards including the oversight of standard eCRF library and version control processes
Database Export Activities
- Program and test data export programs in accordance with specific client needs
- Build data conversion paths and develop efficient and appropriate sponsor deliverable file formats, including CDISC, SDTM, and ODM compliance requirements
External Communications
- May work directly with sponsors on complex data management and analytical outputs

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)
- Strong documentation and reporting capabilities
- Capability to train those in use of data analytics and data management practices
- Strong written and verbal skills for effectively communicating with departmental staff and research centers
- Experience with CDISC standards
- Strong understanding of GxP
- Experience in management and resource delegation
- Experience working with and capability to learn a variety of programming languages (such as Python, Javascript, SQL, SAS, etc.)
Experience, Education, and Certifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, computer science, or equivalent demonstrated technical and analytical experience
· 5-7 years experience in data management
· Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred
