The Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Train employees and contractors on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and Oil and Gas-specific OSHA regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of workplace incidents, inspections, and training sessions in compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings with all US employees.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement preventative measures tailored to Oil and Gas operations.
- Collaborate with management and operations teams to establish and enforce safety standards and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and ensure alignment with industry-specific safety requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging regulations, technologies, and best practices in Oil and Gas safety.
- Conduct regular safety audits, site inspections, and hazard assessments at our customer sites to ensure our employees are in compliance with OSHA and customer-specific safety regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison during safety audits and inspections by regulatory agencies or industry bodies.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Safety Coordinator preferably within the Oil and Gas, Technology, Energy, Utilities, or Manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Strong communication and training skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills for risk assessment and problem-solving.
- Certification such as OSHA 30-Hour, CSP, or similar is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including the ability to guide team members and influence stakeholders to drive safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization
- Flexibility in personal communication approach to successfully engage, collaborate, and build effective work relationships.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time within the US and Canada
