We're currently looking for a talented CPA with structured investment vehicle tax experience to lead the tax compliance function for a multi-billion dollar portfolio of multifamily assets.

This large, privately held real estate investment and management firm is seeking a Lead Tax Compliance Manager to spearhead all tax-related matters across our extensive and dynamic portfolio. In this high visibility role, you will collaborate directly with the CFO and company principals, overseeing a mix of complex Fund, Co-Investment, and SPE vehicles. This is a hands-on opportunity to drive real impact on the business and position yourself for significant professional growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and Strategize: Act as the main point of contact for all tax activities and manage external service providers.
- Partner with Leadership: Report directly to our CFO and have regular interactions with company principals, giving you unparalleled visibility and influence.
- Own Complex Tax Work: Oversee and review a variety of deliverables—tax estimates, returns, GAAP to tax adjustments, capital gain calculations, and more.
- Navigate Growth & Change: Partner on acquisitions, dispositions, and capital events (including 1031 exchanges, Membership Interest purchases/sales, and Promote/Carried Interest).
- Innovate & Improve: Develop streamlined processes that ensure accurate tax data and robust internal controls, while handling tax-related inquiries from a diverse range of investors.
What You Bring:
- Tax Expertise in Real Estate: 5 to 10 years of experience with structured investment vehicles at a real estate fund, owner-operator, or public accounting firm (with real estate clients).
- Technical Excellence: CPA credential required; strong command of GAAP-to-tax nuances for real estate investments.
- Self-Starter Drive: Ability to work independently, make solid decisions, and know when to escalate issues.
- Collaborative Mindset: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, partnering with internal accounting teams and external advisors to meet deadlines.
