What are the responsibilities and job description for the Live Haul Crew Leader position at Perdue Transportation?
Summary
Supervises, leads, and directs the catching crew to ensure the birds are properly caught, loaded and transported to the processing plant.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Travels through house with producer to make a final check of conditions before catching.
- Pre-trip and post-trip crew cab and forklift makes DOT report on findings.
- Drives crew cab to and from farms. Fill out weight tickets on the farm.
- Fills out necessary payroll information for each catcher and forklift operator.
- Recruits and trains new catchers as needed.
- Follows and meets the Company safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Requirements
- Class A State Commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Strong reading, writing, math and analytical skills.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Seventy-five percent of time is in and around poultry house and exposure to seasonal weather conditions, with a significant amount of dust. Ammonia exposure of 0-100 PPM. Ability to operate tractor/trailer-drive up to 3 hours and move through chicken house.
