What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Engineer III position at Peregrine Hospitality?
The Overnight Engineer is a major role of importance within the Engineering. Responsible for the repair, maintenance, upkeep and service requests in accordance with hotel standards. Fire, life safety contact and will also assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in maintenance, facilities or engineering.
- Hotel experience preferred.
Work Hours
- Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
- Scheduling will primary be overnight and includes holidays, nights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision.
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently.
- Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Requires effective communication skills.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill painting and engineering tasks.
- Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive daily work assignments from Manager and review priorities and special projects.
- Patrol the hotel properties for safety and security checks.
- Scan cars and vehicles for parking compliance.
- Acts as the fire, life safety contact for emergencies.
- Respond to guest requests and service needs in a timely and professional manner.
- Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
- Completes assignments and duties in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
- Check work orders and maintenance report for any problems.
- Make rounds checking these problem areas; note any touch-up needs or/and safety concerns in the hotel.
- Basic maintenance knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, wall coverings, etc.
- Strip and refinish Guest Room furniture.
- Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools, (i.e. brushes, rollers, paint sprayers, trays, ladders, scaffolds, etc.) and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas
- Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements (OSHA).
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations.
- Carries out supervisor requests in accordance with hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards.
- Follow all appropriate policies and procedure while constantly striving to improve all standards of operations.
- Follow safety and security procedures.
- Work cohesively with co-workers and all departments as part of a team.
- Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve standards of operations.
- Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.
- Additional cleanliness or guest services duties as assigned by management.
- Follow all additional duties as assigned by management.
This position pays $20.00 per hour DOE.
