What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Front of House Manager position at Perenn Bakery?
Perenn Bakery is Coming to Franklin Nashville Tennessee! Our Franklin location, situated in the historic Boat House building at 94 E. Main Street, is scheduled to open its doors in mid-May. Our Nashville location, which will be our retail and pastry, bread production kitchen at 2934 Sidco Road Suite 130, Nashville, TN is scheduled in mid-May as well! We are looking to hire management positions as soon as possible!
What to Expect as a Front of House Assistant Manager
- Provide exceptional hospitality to ensure an outstanding guest experience at all times
- Supervise all Front of House (FOH) associates during your assigned shift, ensuring that all roles and responsibilities are carried out
- Lead pre-shift meetings, ensuring that FOH associates are fully informed about new updates, specials, and menu items
- Guide the team each week through constructive feedback, as well as positive reinforcement
- Direct and participate in opening and closing duties with FOH associates, including the opening and closing of tills, while ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the FOH area
- Float between stations during your shift, delegating tasks to FOH associates and leads, and ensuring all roles are fulfilled
- Lead the training of new FOH associates to ensure consistent service and understanding of operational standards
- Collaborate with Back of House staff to enhance FOH associates' knowledge of bread, pastries, and menu offerings
- Work with the line team to ensure readiness and smooth execution of the full menu during service
- Oversee, assign, and communicate break schedules to FOH associates
- Serve as a primary point of contact for FOH associates and shift leads with questions or concerns, fostering an environment of confidentiality and trust
- Communicate with the Regional Front of House Manager regarding employee performance and personnel issues, handling write-ups and verbal warnings calmly and professionally
- Maintain proficiency in the Resy reservation system, ensuring smooth operations during shifts
- Assume additional responsibilities as delegated, contributing to the overall success and operational efficiency of the company
About You
- A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a restaurant/bakery environment
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Highly skilled in multitasking, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure and attention to detail
- Ability to foster collaboration
- Self-starter
- Adaptable and flexible
- Willingness to learn and to teach
- Collaborative and willing to assist whenever necessary

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
