What to Expect as a Grocery Assistant Manager
- Provide a curated experience for guests by leading them through product information, recommendations, and uses
- Maintain knowledge of baked products, grocery items, barista-created beverages, and retail goods to be able to explain to customers and co-workers
- Build new product displays, ensuring that stock is full and properly presented, and keeping aisles and shelves organized and clean
- Delegate tasks to employees to set up and change visual displays on a daily basis
- Monitor price labels to make sure they are displayed correctly and accurately scan
- Check supply and product levels
- Order/Reorder items when necessary
- Take receipt and store inventory arrives from vendors
- Coach and manage team in sales and service tasks
- Resolve customer complaints
- Train and develop employees in all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to cleaning the store, stocking and merchandising, sales and service, cash register operation, record-keeping, and department-specific tasks
- Motivate employees and provide recognition
- Clean showroom and storage areas
- Support and communicate successfully with guests, co-workers, and management
- Assume additional responsibilities as delegated, contributing to the overall success and operational efficiency of the company
About You
- A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in a retail/hospitality environment
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Highly skilled in multitasking, with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure and attention to detail
- Ability to foster collaboration
- Self-starter
- Adaptable and flexible
- Willingness to learn and to teach
- Collaborative and willing to assist whenever necessary

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time
