Job Title: Lawn and Landscape Operations Manager – Residential and Commercial
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lawn and Landscape Operations Manager to lead daily crews on scheduled lawn care maintenance and miscellaneous landscaping projects for both residential and commercial contract properties. This hands-on role includes crew scheduling, on-site supervision, materials acquisition, equipment rental, irrigation work, fertilization, and chemical application duties throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. This role also offers year-round job stability as it includes snow plowing and snow shoveling contract labor scheduling in the Winter Season.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage staff schedule for efficiency, quality, safety, coordination, and training for landscape maintenance and snow removal contracts.
· Lead and supervise daily team operations on all lawn care and landscaping maintenance projects.
· Monitor and scout contract properties regularly. Report issues and make recommendations to homeowners and HOA management.
· Coordinate and lead labor agency or part time staff on pruning and enhancement projects.
· Provide detailed knowledge of various plant species and best installation and management practices to homeowners and HOA management.
· Provide advanced knowledge and experience in various older residential and commercial irrigation and drainage system designs and maintenance. Perform all troubleshooting, scheduling, repair, and system additions.
· Turn on/off/adjust irrigation controllers after qualifying weather events and make seasonal adjustments based on monitoring of site conditions and weather forecasts.
· Maintain a Colorado pesticide QS license. Estimate quantities, calibrate equipment, perform chemical applications, and keep records for various liquid and granular fertilizer and pesticide products at all customer properties.
- Ensure project quality, safety, and efficiency across all maintenance and landscaping work.
- Serve as the point person for on-site decision-making and customer interaction when needed.
- Ensure periodic maintenance is being performed on all lawncare equipment, trucks, and trailers.
· Manage equipment, vehicle and trailer maintenance, repairs, and DOT inspections.
· Perform routine equipment maintenance and various repairs, and schedule larger repairs and year end tune ups with qualified mechanics.
· Give customer estimates for irrigation repairs and prospective landscape jobs.
· Supervise and perform various customer Fall gutter cleanouts.
· In the winter months, plow snow in accordance with various customer contracts and schedule snow shoveling contract labor.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of proven experience in lawn care and landscape operations leadership.
- Significant direct experience with irrigation systems from installation to maintenance and repairs.
- Has obtained and maintains a current Colorado pesticide QS license.
- Proven ability to manage teams, schedules, and budgets effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and solve problems proactively.
- Proficiency with Jobber scheduling and tracking software a plus.
- The ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions throughout the seasons.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Spanish language a plus.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday: 7:30am - 5:00pm; overtime is required to meet certain schedules for customers.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year commensurate with experience
- Two weeks of PTO – timing to be agreed upon
