System Improvement Specialist Contract

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive operational efficiency through standardization and innovation initiatives
- Apply technical, multitasking, and interpersonal skills to promptly resolve outages
- Pursue ambitious goals, work independently, and collaborate in a team environment under tight deadlines
- Develop process-oriented approaches and create runbooks, technical documentation
- Stay current with emerging technologies, identifying those that enhance automation efforts
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of computer operations background, data centers understanding, and experience working with Unix/Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; equivalent work experience acceptable
- Experience with Salt or Ansible orchestration (preferably Salt)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Familiarity with Jira concepts and SDLC framework
- Background in providing and automating day-to-day systems administration duties, Shell (Bourne), Perl, or Python scripting expertise
- Knowledge of open-source metric analytics and visualization tools (Grafana, Splunk, Humio) and multiple open-source automation and management toolsets (Chef, Ruby, GitHub, Salt, Artifactory)
