We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Worker’s Compensation Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing insight and knowledge and support to our attorneys in medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and other personal injury litigation cases. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Draft basic litigation filings.
- Prepare discovery documents and responses.
- Draft and facilitate subpoenas and notices.
- Coordinate depositions.
- Coordinate independent medical exams.
- Interact with clients.
- Organize medical records, exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Aid attorneys’ discovery requests.
- Complex document management, including maintaining and updating files.
- Legal Research.
- Trial preparation and assisting at trial.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a role as a litigation paralegal for Workers’ Compensation required.
- Strong communication skills, both orally and written, with diverse audiences.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and function as a strong contributor to the team.
- Strong skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to knowledge of current technologies and commitment to remain up to date with industry best practices.
- Ability to quickly learn proprietary software systems and databases.
- Legal research experience.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability, willingness to learn, and self-drive to meet deadlines and add value.
This position is for our Cleveland, Ohio office. Hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Monday through Friday), but additional hours could be required as necessary.
