What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seamstress/Tailor/Fit Specialist position at Perfect Fit Tailoring?
We are looking to employ an experienced fitter to work in a small business, woman owned tailor shop. We need someone who is familiar with all types of garment construction and who feels comfortable pinning sports wear to formal wear garments. You also need some basic computer skills, pleasant customer service skills, and telephone etiquette.
Our fitters possess speed, attention to detail, collaborative spirit and teamwork to drive an easy and fun experience for our customers.
Essential Functions:
- Educate customers on proper fit, style, construction, and trend in a professional and friendly manner
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and kneeling
- Present a pleasant, knowledgeable and positive attitude to our customers
- Provide detailed information about alterations services and value and respond to customer inquiries
- The ability to stay organized and prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment
- Records required alterations and instructions concerning alterations on tag and attaches tag to garment
- Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
- Utilize store technology to manage and organize customer alteration needs
Requirements:
- Previous fitting, tailoring, and/or sewing experience, preferred minimum of 2-3 years
- The ability to embrace a flexible working schedule based on business needs
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision
- Knowledge of various fabrics and textiles
- Able to work weekends
