Child Care Teacher

Job Description:

The Teacher is responsible for developing and coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children.

Responsibilities

• Develop classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices
• Lead by example, self-starter
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children
• Maintain communications with parents through progress/daily reports
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
• Maintain personal professional development & training
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others and team player.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (Required)
• Associate degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE. (highly preferred)
• CDA or Certificate in Early Childhood education or currently pursing (highly preferred)
• 24 hours of Childcare training (willing to obtain)
• Must be 18 years old or older
• 1 year of proven experience as a teacher in a licensed childcare facility (preferred) **A minimum 6 months of experience is required
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (willing to obtain)

Salary

$14.00 - $16.00 hourly

(**pay is based upon education, certification and experience in Early Childhood Education)

• Childcare: 3 year

License/Certification:

• CPR & First Aid Certification (willing to obtain)
• Child Development Associate or

• ECE Associate Degree
