Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Program Team Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in childcare, teaching or education. This role involves overseeing programs that foster childhood development, providing tutoring and support, and creating an engaging environment for students. The Program Team Leader will play a vital role in ensuring that all activities are safe, educational, and aligned with our mission.
Responsibilities
- The Team Lead will be responsible for supporting their directors in daily school operations
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment.
- Plan, implement, and oversee daily activities and programs for children, ensuring they are engaging and educational.
- Assist management with office duties as needed.
- Train and mentor new and existing teachers and assistant teachers.
- Serve as coach & mentor to fellow teachers
- Provide breaks for teachers and teach in the classroom when teachers are absent, as needed.
- Lead staff in the absence of the director
- Available to assist Licensing, Health Dept. and USDA upon arrival in Director absence
- Be available to open and close the school as needed
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards and policies.
- Create fun and interactive learning experiences for children
- Create age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities and for children.
- Ensure teachers are implementing the curriculum and have all necessary supplies & tools needed daily.
- Communicate directly and effectively with teachers, parents/guardians to achieve success for the child.
- Assist with enrollment and tours for potential families as needed.
- Complete child assessments and observations
- Assist with preparing healthy nutritious meals for children
- Provide teacher support and assistance in the classroom as needed
Requirements
- Experience working with students in daycare, tutoring, or camp settings
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while fostering a supportive environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
- Experience in coaching, leading and training
- 24 hours of childcare training
- Proven teacher experience working in a licensed childcare or public school.
- Familiar with VDOE & VDSS standards and USDA guidelines
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
