The General Dentist is responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums as well as other diseases affecting oral hygiene and retention of teeth.
Must have a MD in Dentistry, a state license to practice Dentistry in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania is preferred but not required.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing preventative dental examinations on patients
- Making diagnoses based on initial examinations and recommending treatment courses.
- Treating tooth and gum diseases.
- Treating diseases related to nerves, pulp and other dental tissue.
- Treating gum and teeth malformations; and (vi) treating teeth and gum injuries.
Must also have any experience with or knowledge of (through any completed university-level coursework, seminars, workshops, or real-world, hands-on experience) each of the following:
- Providing dental care for patients with physical and intellectual disabilities and medical complexities, including behavioral and pharmacological management of treatment/dental procedures (i.e., exams, radiographs, cleanings, treatment planning, fillings, and extractions)
- Various degrees of modifications to care, including transfer facilitation, behavioral or pharmacological management (i.e., oral premedication or nitrous oxide); and
- Communicating with patient’s PCPs for comprehensive management and treatment while utilizing general anesthesia.

This is a full-time, Monday through Thursday schedule, with some exceptions.
