What You Will Do
The Regional Talent Director is responsible for developing, delivering and implementing the Talent Management (Acquisition, identification, assessment, development and succession) Strategy for Perfetti Van Melle Americas ensuring leadership continuity by having the right skills, capabilities and resources in place at all times anticipating future leadership and capability gaps /risks. This role will work closely with Perfetti Van Melle leaders and talents to ensure they achieve progression and career development in a sustainable and progressive fashion in line with our overall objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead in delivering and implementing the talent strategy which support our values and ethics, closely working together with Group HR and the BU Americas HR Leadership Team.
- Proactively understand current talent trends and assess their usefulness in immediate and long term strategies. Implement new and enticing talent initiatives and incorporate existing ones (i.e. Leadership Programs that increase engagement, development and retention of high performing individuals).
- Identify and develop key talented people (including executive leadership) ensuring the right training and development is offered and evaluated.
- Take the lead in ensuring robust succession plans are in place, which identify essential skills gaps and highlight risks or strengths of talent pipelines in all areas of the business, closely working together with Group HR and the BU Americas HR Leadership Team.
- Identify and assess future and current development needs within the business unit through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals in consultation with HR Directors and functional leaders of the different Operating Companies
- Use a blended approach to learning and providing opportunities for ongoing development and fully focusing on achieving our employees’ maximum potential.
- Share best practices (and provide leadership) concerning L&D and Talent programs within the HR community across the BU Americas.
- Responsible for managing the Talent Management budget process assessing the return on investment of training or development programs.
- Provide accurate analytical insights to highlight the success of the talent pipeline, and make further recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant area required. Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in an HR, Talent Management and Learning & development role preferable in the FMCG industry
- Proven track record in HR/Talent management/Learning and Development in a fast moving environment and being responsive to change.
- Strong external/market awareness, networks and understanding of the broader industry trends.
- Strong interpersonal skills able to use effective interpersonal communication and consultative and influencing skills, enabling confident, compelling and successful interactions with stakeholders across a complex organization.
- Action-oriented attitude, outstanding problem-solving abilities and able to successfully lead cross-functional projects.
- Strong business acumen and creativity to find cost effective talent solutions.
- Strong analytical skills having the ability to analyze and interpret trends (internal & external)
- and able to translate these into actionable strategies.
- Ability to prepare and deliver quality multiple work streams on time and within budget.
- Fluent in English both verbal and written. Spanish preferred.
