What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agriculture Consultant position at Performance Agriculture Services (PAS)?
A local agricultural consultation firm is currently looking to fill a full-time consulting position in a fast-paced office environment to assist agricultural producers in maximizing their potential participation in USDA programs.
The consultant must be able to independently perform the following duties which are not all inclusive:
· Consult with clients by providing accurate USDA program information to ensure clients utilize and understand all USDA programs for which the client’s agricultural operation may be eligible for:
· Respond to inquiries (via phone, email, or website) from current and potential agriculture clients pertaining to our consultation services.
· Assist current clients with their accounts in a courteous and professional manner.
· Responsible for general office duties, such as but limited to making sure all USDA documents are completed accurately and submitted by the required deadline.
We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, can effectively multi-task, and is detailed and team oriented. The candidate must also be committed to the growth of the company and be willing to go above and beyond what is expected of them.
We are looking for someone who possesses a number of skills, which include but are not limited to:
· Analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make decisions
· Excellent communication skills; in-person, over the phone and through email
· Proficient computer skills that include email, internet, and Microsoft Office
· Organized office skills
· Ability to expand into other duties as assigned
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· College degree and/or farm/agriculture experience and knowledge required.
· Possess a valid driver’s license.
· Consent to and pass background and reference checks.
· Be able to timely staff the office from Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; some weekend work may be required.
