What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Safety Engineer position at Performance Contracting Group?
PCI seeks a Branch Safety Engineer for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
Assist the branch with implementing and administering PCG and client accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics, and documentation are submitted promptly.
Provide safety technical expertise and support to the branch.
Promote safety procedures and safe work practices.
Assist in investigating work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.
Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.
Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
Review all accidents and investigation reports.
Act as liaison between the company and client regarding site safety management.
Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
Provide safety resources for workers.
Identify, anticipate, and evaluate potential safety health hazards.
Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate compliance.
Establish branch and project safety goals.
Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Able to conduct adequate safety training.
This position is safety-sensitive.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Science/Management, related discipline, or comparable work experience.
Preferred Requirements:
OSHA 30 for Construction
Have obtained, or are eligible to obtain, a CHST or OSHA 500
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative
Demonstrated strong work ethic through internship or labor experience in the field
Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
Customer service skills include working with customers and building strong relationships.
Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
