Job Description
PCI is seeking a Safety Representative for its Washington, DC operations based in Ashburn, VA. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel
Assist branch / site with the implementation and administration of the company’s accident prevention plan, policies and procedures. Including safety resources such as training, expertise and guidance
Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of plant site and corporation
Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
This position is safety-sensitive.
Basic Requirements:
Minimum 2 years' experience in a construction safety related field
Must be at least 18 years old
Prolonged periods standing and working outside
Physically able to perform assigned tasks
Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
Local to the area
OSHA 30
Preferred Requirements:
Additional OSHA Certifications
Bilingual
