Job Description
PCI is seeking Journeyman Carpenters for our Des Moines 587 operations based in Grimes, IA. Our success is built on the skill and precision of our carpenters and other craft professionals. Whether you're just starting out or bring years of craftsmanship to the table, your journey with us begins here, shaping structures that stand the test of time.
Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform a variety of skilled carpentry work in the construction, installation, erection, maintenance, fabrication and repair of wooden structure and fixtures, such as architectural woodwork, millwork, trim, concrete forms, metal and wood framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, etc.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other materials according to measurements
- Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
- Complete assigned carpentry tasks with quality workmanship
- Operate a variety of power/manual tools and equipment used in skilled carpentry
- Perform heavy physical labor
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and foremen
- Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
- On-the-job training offered
This position is safety-sensitive.
Basic Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to perform basic math
- Supervisory responsibilities
- Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
Preferred Requirements
- Local to Des Moines, IA preferred
