Shift: A shift - 6:30am to 4:30pm (Monday through Thursday)
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor/Manager
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems, be capable of troubleshooting and repairing a variety of equipment, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing machinery. This position requires excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, circuit boards, motors, sensors, PLCs, and control systems.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical components, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
- Install, test, and calibrate equipment to ensure proper functioning in compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor machinery performance and identify areas for improvement or necessary upgrades.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct repairs quickly and efficiently to minimize production disruption.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to identify and address equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and inspections.
- Follow all safety procedures and work in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the training of junior technicians and other staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical or mechanical maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, PLC troubleshooting, and electrical components.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drives.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with occasional exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
