The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, ordering parts, and handling shipping and receiving duties. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring that parts are accurately tracked, stocked, and distributed as needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a hands-on environment and willing to take on tasks that may involve manual labor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, including stock levels and part numbers.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and report discrepancies.
- Track parts usage and forecast future needs to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Ordering and Receiving:
- Source and order parts from approved suppliers.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Update inventory records upon receipt and resolve any discrepancies.
- Shipping and Distribution:
- Prepare and package parts for shipping.
- Coordinate with carriers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain shipping logs and documentation.
- Data Entry and Documentation:
- Accurately enter data into inventory management software.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and order status.
- Customer and Vendor Communication:
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status, delays, or issues.
- Assist internal teams with parts inquiries and availability.
- Hands-On Responsibilities:
- Be prepared to work in environments that may involve physical tasks and occasional manual labor.
- Maintain a proactive and adaptable approach to various hands-on duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in inventory management or logistics are a plus.
- Previous experience in a parts clerk, inventory, or warehouse role preferred.
