Role
PDW is seeking an HR Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team, contributing to the management and execution of payroll and benefits programs for our growing multi-state workforce. This role requires high attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with payroll and benefits regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll in UKG Ready, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Administer benefits programs (Betterment 401(k), Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans, Mutual of Omaha supplemental insurances), and manage all benefit changes, including deductions, in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including benefits enrollment, termination processes, and final payroll updates
- Perform tax registrations in new states where we expand our workforce, ensuring compliance with state and local payroll requirements
- Conduct regular audits of payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and identify and remedy discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across multiple states
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll and benefits-related inquires, resolving issues efficiently
- Generate and analyze reports in UKG Ready to support compliance, identify trends, and provide insights
- Document and refine payroll and benefits processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Stay up to date on changing regulations and industry best practices for payroll and benefits
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience with UKG Ready or a similar HRIS
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent experience
- 2 years’ experience processing multi-state payroll, including tax registrations and withholding updates
- Familiarity with federal and state payroll tax regulations
- Working knowledge of employment laws including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, etc.
- High attention to detail and ability to process data with precision
- Experience managing benefits programs and manual updates to payroll deductions
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
ITAR Requirement
In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Compensation and Benefits
PDW values our team, and we offer a compensation package reflective of your experience and capabilities. Salary range: $70k-$85k per year. Benefits include:
