Role
PDW seeks an experienced, skilled Project or Systems Engineer to join our growing Project Engineering department. The Project Engineering group is responsible for the development and integration of PDW products at a system level ensuring system level requirements are met. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development, testing, and fielding of PDW products from concept through sustainment. They function as the technical interface to key subcontractors. The Principal PE will facilitate and drive system level test, issues resolution and root analysis. They are expected to thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, be able to deal with problems on the fly and deliver highly capable and reliable systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead system level design, integration and test of PDW products to meet system requirements and high reliability.
- Facilitate and lead root cause investigation for system level and multidiscipline issues.
- Manage key subcontractors in technical scope and schedule.
- Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of system and subsystem issues.
- Mentor and grow PE and Test engineers.
- Facilitate cross department communication of task and work products.
Requirements
- 8 or more years of project engineering experience with hands-on system design or system integration experience.
- Experience in the system level design, integration, and test of complex systems for harsh and challenging environments. Unmanned or manned aircraft systems are preferred.
- Experience leading the multi-disciplinary engineering teams through the design process for complex projects.
- Excellent root cause analysis experience for multiple and complex issues.
- Experience in identifying and mitigating project and system level risks.
- Team leadership experience and high comfort level in holding team members accountable for performance and building a healthy team culture.
- Experience in successfully managing project schedules and timelines.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
