Software QA Engineer

Role

PDW seeks a skilled Quality Assurance Software Engineer to join our team, contributing to the next wave of system and tool development for our upcoming product lines. This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring software quality, compliance with industry standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, able to deal with problems on the fly, and delivers thoughtfully designed and highly adaptable systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and methodologies for software development.
• Oversee the design and execution of test plans, test cases, and automated testing tools to ensure products meet the desired quality levels.
• Conduct systematic checks on all stages of software development to guarantee that the quality of the final product meets the required specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in response to defects, deviations, and non-conformance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, production, and sales, to continuously improve product quality and efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and train personnel on quality processes and procedures to ensure consistent application of best practices.
• Keep up to date with industry developments, standards, and regulations and make recommendations for their implementation.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and methodologies, specifically for software development.
• Proficiency in the Python coding language developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Experience with quality control software and tools, including automated testing frameworks.
• 3 years of experience in a Software focused QA position. This could be on a QA team, or as a QA team within a larger software team.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Playwright, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in data analysis and statistical methods.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with software development for drones or other autonomous systems.
• FAA Part 107 certification and FPV flying knowledge is highly desired. 

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
