Job Description:
- Diagnosis: Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues with powersports vehicles.
- Repair and Maintenance: Performing repairs and maintenance tasks on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, fuel systems, suspension systems, and other components of powersports vehicles.
- Parts Replacement: Replacing worn or damaged parts with new ones, ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and determining the most effective solutions.
- Testing: Testing repaired vehicles to ensure proper functionality and safety standards are met.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of repairs, parts used, and services performed on each vehicle.
- Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a powersports technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in powersports vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of powersports vehicle systems and components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Certification from a recognized powersports technician program or equivalent experience may be required.
- Strong technical diagnostics and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with Can Am, Polaris, or other similar products.
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to operate a forklift as needed
- Ability to use a computer for diagnostics and navigate service manuals
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have his/her own tools or the ability to purchase his/her own tools. Any specialty tools will be supplied by Performance East Inc
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of common off-road, marine, or on road accessories
- Valid Drivers License
- On-Site Training available for right applicant
- Operation of a tire machine
