Powersports Technician

Job Description:

• Diagnosis: Conducting thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues with powersports vehicles.
• Repair and Maintenance: Performing repairs and maintenance tasks on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, fuel systems, suspension systems, and other components of powersports vehicles.
• Parts Replacement: Replacing worn or damaged parts with new ones, ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and determining the most effective solutions.
• Testing: Testing repaired vehicles to ensure proper functionality and safety standards are met.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of repairs, parts used, and services performed on each vehicle.
• Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers to explain diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and proper handling of hazardous materials.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a powersports technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in powersports vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of powersports vehicle systems and components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Certification from a recognized powersports technician program or equivalent experience may be required.
• Strong technical diagnostics and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience with Can Am, Polaris, or other similar products.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to operate a forklift as needed
• Ability to use a computer for diagnostics and navigate service manuals
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have his/her own tools or the ability to purchase his/her own tools. Any specialty tools will be supplied by Performance East Inc
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of common off-road, marine, or on road accessories
• Valid Drivers License
• On-Site Training available for right applicant
• Operation of a tire machine
