POSITION SUMMARY
The Crane Operator is responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials on a work site using a crane in a safe manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operate the crane to lift, move and position machinery, equipment, products or other large objects
- Use proper hoisting attachments and observe the load to ensure that it is secure
- Compare load weight with the capacity of the crane in order to prevent over loading
- Perform a pre-inspection on any equipment operated
- Assist in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being used
- Manipulate crane controls in a safe manner and direct crane to appropriate destination while effectively communicating via written, oral and / or signaled instructions
- Obey and follow all safety rules and policies
- Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)
- Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and / or supervisor
