What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Performance Engineered Products?
Purpose:
As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure all products meet rigorous quality standards, are free from defects, and are ready for shipment to customers. Your role will involve managing final inspections, performing first article reports, interpreting blueprints, and investigating product defects. You’ll work closely with both internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with both internal and external standards. Strong communication with customers and regular audits will be key components of your success in this role
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all parts meet quality standards and are free from defects before being shipped to customers, ensuring high customer satisfaction and product reliability.
- Manage the final quality inspection of finished products in alignment with established quality standards.
- Implement methods for inspecting, testing, evaluating products, and monitoring operations that impact quality.
- Establish detailed guidelines for inspections, eliminating substandard products and identifying solutions for quality issues.
- Perform first article reports based on blueprints and customer requirements.
- Interpret blueprints to determine customers' critical needs and requirements.
- Conduct first article reports for new samples based on blueprints.
- Inspect returned products, analyze defects, document findings, and update corrective and preventive action logs, including customer concern logs.
- Investigate and resolve customer quality-related issues and complaints.
- Ensure inspectors conduct visual inspections of final products every hour, measure critical dimensions every two hours, and record measurements in logs.
- Maintain strong communication with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters.
- Calculate CPK (Process Capability Index) using data collection from injection molding or assembly products for automotive, aerospace, and other industries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures to meet new regulatory requirements, reporting findings to senior management.
- Prepare compliance reports, perform risk assessments, and enhance internal compliance procedures, controls, and manuals.
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with customer, local, and international standards.
- Develop and implement company-wide compliance policies and regulations.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of control systems and recommend improvements.
- Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or recurring issues.
- Coordinate with department heads across different locations to ensure compliance across all departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Pay Rate : 67K Annually (DOE)
