- YOU MUST LIVE IN CENTRAL CT
- This job requires driving daily.
- SHIFT IS approximately 2pm-10pm M-F
- A COMPANY CAR WITH GAS CARD WILL BE PROVIDED.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and OSHA standards in all operational activities.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Create and manage a database of several hundred separate facility locations throughout CT, MA and RI to include sorting, scheduling, tracking, data entry, reporting etc.
- Establish contact with company managers and/or company clients who are assigned to specific locations to coordinate and schedule inspections.
- Plan and schedule randomize safety inspections on a rotating basis.
- Effectively plan and organize travel routes to maximize efficiencies in alignment with inspection schedule.
- Drive to several separate job site locations throughout the shift.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections while noting deficiencies, violations, hazards etc.
- Take notes and pictures, and file inspection reports (paper and/or electronic) at the conclusion of each inspection.
- Identify and/or innovate appropriate corrective action to address both known and anomalous safety hazards and violations, as needed.
- Communicate with and work with applicable job site managers to facilitate and oversee correction action to completion.
- Participate in the company’s health and safety program committee to include attending meetings and presenting findings to the committee.
- Other related duties, as may be assigned.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and OSHA standards.
- Current valid OSHA 30 card in either General Industry or Construction.
- Additional safety certifications/credentials are strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a role with safety as the primary focus.
- Possess and be able to demonstrate adequate experience with, knowledge of, and aptitude in the subject matter (see “Responsibilities”).
- Be able to identify and locate precise OSHA standards within the 29 CFR 1910 that are applicable to the hazards and violations noted during inspections.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent time-management skills so as to effectively work independently within established deadlines and parameters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in person, phone, email etc.).
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, etc.)
- Intermediate problem solving skills.
- Demonstrates a professional and positive work ethic at all times.
