Job Title: Driver
Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country's food supply chain. They ensure customers' products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, while also serving as the face of our company.
Position Purpose:
The Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner. The driver will communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, answering questions accurately and promptly.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Report any safety issues or repairs required.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Count check items and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork associated with freight.
- Unload products from the trailer and transport them to designated customer storage areas.
- Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Collect money where required.
- Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors.
- Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
Requirements:
- 12 months commercial driving experience
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
- Valid CDL-B
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
