Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in maintaining the country's food supply chain. Our drivers ensure timely delivery of products in excellent condition, acting as the face of our company and building lasting relationships with customers.
Primary Responsibilities :
Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers professionally, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries.Function as a team member within the organization, performing duties to best serve the company.Perform required safety checks, including pre / post-trip inspections of tractor / truck and trailer following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.Report safety issues and necessary repairs.Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.Report safety hazards immediately; inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.Transport tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.Deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route schedule.Unloading products at customer locations into designated storage areas.Conduct damage control checks and communicate issues with supervisors as needed.Verify deliveries with customers and obtain required signatures.Collect cash or checks where applicable and secure empty trailers.Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are properly secured at all times.Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork.Record hours of service daily, logging in accordance with DOT and company requirements.Maintain cleanliness in the tractor, loading dock, and trailers as needed.At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and finalize paperwork.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications :
12 months of commercial driving experience.High school diploma / GED or state-approved equivalent.Valid CDL A license.Meet all state licensing and / or certification requirements (where applicable).Must be over 21 years of age.Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.Pass road test.Current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain a new one.Ability to hand-lift items ranging from 10-90 pounds and utilize equipment for product handling.Company Description :
