Job Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B at Performance Foodservice is responsible for maintaining and repairing medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment. This role requires a strong understanding of preventative maintenance techniques and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with onboard computers, electrical systems, and other critical components.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Train junior technicians and share best practices to enhance overall technical expertise.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & disc brakes, computerized diagnostics, and electronic component repair.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
