Diesel Engine Repair Technician
The Diesel Engine Repair Technician assists in the maintenance and repair of company vehicles, focusing on diesel engines, refrigeration units, and trailers. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular scheduled inspections of tractors and trailers, completing checklists and making necessary repairs.
- Assist in servicing and repairing refrigeration units, including engine repairs, leak detection, tubing replacement, condenser repairs, thermal control adjustments, and unit recharging with approved refrigerant gases.
- Operate electric arc welding equipment to repair ramps, ladders, and tripods, and construct new cargo bars.
- Participate in road service trips, maintaining required logs, records, checklists, and reports, and ensuring garage tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with 6-12 months of experience in truck/automotive maintenance.
- The ability to interpret data requiring advanced skills and knowledge equivalent to 6-12 months training in truck/automotive maintenance is essential.
